How to Make Money on OnlyFans
Updated October 19, 2026 · OnlyFans Finder team
Making money on OnlyFans is simple to start and hard to scale. Anyone over 18 can open a page in a day; the creators who earn real money treat it as a small business — with a price strategy, a niche and, above all, a steady source of new fans. This guide uses real numbers: OnlyFans' own published accounts and 8,771 creator profiles in the OnlyFans Finder index.
Short answer: pick a clear niche, price near the market ($10.00 is the median), earn most of your money from pay-per-view messages and tips rather than the subscription, and bring fans from outside — OnlyFans itself won't show your page to anyone.
How much OnlyFans creators really make
OnlyFans keeps 20% of every payment and pays creators 80%. In its 2024 financial year fans paid $7.22bn, so creators shared about $5.8bn across 4,634,000 accounts — an average of ≈$1,250 a year. That average is pulled up by a few huge earners: OnlyFans says 5,076 creators have made more than $1 million to date, while most make a few hundred dollars a month or less. The five ways to earn on OnlyFans
- Subscriptions — a monthly price for access to your feed. Predictable, but usually the smaller part of a top creator's income.
- Pay-per-view (PPV) messages — locked photos or videos sent in DMs. For many creators this is the biggest stream: Bhad Bhabie's own breakdown showed more from messages than from subscriptions.
- Tips — on posts, in messages and during live streams.
- Custom content — personal requests at a price you set.
- Paid posts and live streams — individual posts or lives fans unlock separately.
How to price your OnlyFans page
Across 6,726 paid pages the median subscription is $10.00 and the average is $13.58. Creators cluster on round prices — $10.00, $15.00, $9.99, $20.00 are the most common — and 23.3% of creators run a free page.
| Monthly price | Share of paid pages |
|---|---|
| Under $5 | 6% |
| $5–9.99 | 33% |
| $10–14.99 | 28% |
| $15–19.99 | 15% |
| $20–29.99 | 13% |
| $30 and up | 5% |
- Start near the median for your niche, not at the bottom. A $4.99 page competes with thousands of others on price alone; the money is in what fans buy after they subscribe.
- Use discounts and free trials for promotions instead of a permanently low price.
- Free or paid? A free page grows faster and earns from PPV and tips; a paid page earns from every subscriber. Many creators run a free page as a funnel into a paid one.
Choose a niche fans can find
OnlyFans has no categories, so fans find creators through search — on Google, Reddit and directories like OnlyFans Finder. A clear niche in your bio (“redhead”, “fitness”, “cosplay”, “couple”) and a real location put you in front of people searching for exactly that. Yet only 60% of creators show a location — an easy way to stand out.
Prices differ by niche. Among the largest ones in our index: Curvy $12.00, Brunette $11.99, Big Booty $11.99, Blonde $11.11. Full tables by niche and country are in our OnlyFans statistics.
Get fans from outside OnlyFans
This is the part that decides who earns. OnlyFans has no “explore” feed, so every subscriber comes from somewhere else:
- Social media. Reddit communities for your niche, X (Twitter), TikTok and Instagram for safe-for-work teasers. Only 18% of creators even link an Instagram on their profile.
- Search and directories. Make your profile easy to find by name, niche and city — fans search Google for “[niche] onlyfans” and “onlyfans near me” every day.
- Collaborations with creators in the same niche, shout-outs and joint content.
- Paid traffic. Ads on adult traffic networks and promoted placements send fans directly to a page — the fastest way to grow, and the one most agencies use.
Keep subscribers paying
- Post on a schedule so the feed never looks abandoned.
- Reply to messages. DMs are where PPV and custom content sell; fast, personal replies earn more than any price change.
- Win back expired subscribers with a discount offer — keeping a fan is cheaper than finding a new one.
Common mistakes
- Launching with no audience and waiting for OnlyFans to send fans — it won't.
- Pricing at the minimum and never selling anything else.
- A vague profile: no niche, no location, no links — impossible to find in search.
- Sharing personal details. Keep your real name and exact location private.
Should you work with an OnlyFans agency?
Agencies manage chats, posting and promotion for a share of earnings, often 30–50%. A good one can grow a page faster than you could alone; a bad one takes a cut for little work. Ask how they get traffic, what they charge, and whether you keep control of your account and content.
